Michael Rectenwald is an author, public speaker, a columnist, and an entrepreneur. He has written 11 books. He taught Liberal Studies and Global Liberal Studies at New York University until 2019. He also has experience as a professor at Duke University, North Carolina Central University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Case Western Reserve University.

Michael Rectenwald has a bachelors degree in english language, literature, and letters from the University of Pittsburgh. He also has a masters degree in english language, literature, and letters from Case Western University, and a PhD in literary and cultural studies from Carnegie Mellon University. He has three children and a grandson.
