Former North Carolina Gov. Jim Martin endorses Dale Folwell in governor’s race

Dale R. Folwell is married to Synthia and together they have three children, residing in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting from UNC-Greensboro. 

Dale R. Folwell began his career in blue-collar jobs before transitioning to finance, where he worked as a Registered Investment Advisor for an Investment Firm.

Dale R. Folwell has served as the North Carolina State Treasurer since January 2017, after being elected to the position in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. He previously served four terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives, including one term as Speaker Pro Tempore. Folwell has also been a member of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education and the Chairman of the NC Employment Security Commission. Additionally, as State Treasurer, he holds a seat on the State Board of Education and is a member of the Council of State.
