Alma S. Adams is a Congresswoman representing North Carolina's 12th Congressional District since winning a special election in 2014. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the North Carolina General Assembly for 20 years. Adams has also held positions on her local School Board and City Council, where she advocated for educational opportunities and affordable housing. Additionally, she has a background in education, having taught in the classroom after earning her degrees in Art Education and Multicultural Education.
