Victor Varela previously served as Mayor of Ronda for 3 terms. He ran for Ronda Town Commissioner in 2022, but he did not win.

Victor currently works as a loan officer at Amres Corporation. He previously worked as a mortgage loan advisor at Hamilton Home Loans and as a research technician at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Victor was raised in Queens, New York and Winston-Salem. He holds a degree in biology from Western Carolina University, a bachelor's degree in biology from North Carolina State University, and a virology degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He lives in Ronda with his wife, Teri.
