Becky is originally from Jacksonville, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor's degree from Davidson College and her law degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Becky is a member of the Wake County Bar Association's Professionalism Committee.

Prior to becoming a judge, Becky worked as an assistant district attorney in Wake County.

Becky Holt currently serves as Superior Court Judge for District 10. She was first elected in 2016 and is serving her second term.

As a legal associate at Yates, Fleishman, McLamb and Weyher, Becky researched, drafted, and filed legal documents, and provided defense and counsel to clients.

As an assistant district attorney, Becky prosecuted criminal cases under state law on behalf of the district attorney’s office, supervised legal and clerical staff, and conducted interviews with victims and witnesses in ongoing cases.

As a Superior Court Judge, Becky has "presided over hundreds of civil and criminal matters to include, on the civil side, medical malpractice cases, personal injury lawsuits, class actions, and contract disputes. - The Superior Court Judge hears both civil and criminal cases. Superior Court Judges try civil cases involving more than $10,000. Superior Court Judge hear appeals of misdemeanors and infraction cases that were first heard in the District Court,
