Gale Adcock currently serves as a state senator in District 16. She was elected to this position in 2022 and is serving her first term. She previously served as a state representative in District 41. She was elected to that position in 2014 and served for 4 terms. She also served as a member of the Cary Town Council. She is a former president of the North Carolina Nurses Association and former chair of the North Carolina Center for Nursing.

Gale currently works as a chief health officer at SAS Institute. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, Wake Forest University, and Case Western Reserve University. She previously worked as a nurse practitioner.

Gale is from Virginia. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Eastern Carolina University and a master's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Cary with her husband, Kevin. She is Episcopal.
