Richard graduated with a  law enforcement certification from Mitchell Community College. 

Richard is a Basic Law Enforcement Training director at Mitchell Community College. He worked  at the Mooresville Police Department. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force. 

Richard Carver served on the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education as the District 7 representative from 2018-2022. He was chairman during his final year. Richard ran for Iredell County Board of Commissioners in 2022, but did not win.

Mike is from Wilmington, DE. He earned his bachelor's degree from Elon University and his master's degree in leadership from Charter Oak State College. He has been an active member of several United Methodist Churches.
