Reece Pyrtle is a lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, and a 1985 graduate of Morehead High School in Eden. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University in 1989. Reece Pyrtle has been married to Valerie since 1991, and they have a daughter named Ainsley. Reece Pyrtle has served in the North Carolina General Assembly since 2020 and was elected to the position in 2022. He was a Commissioner for Rockingham County, elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. Prior to his political career, he was the Chief of Police for the City of Eden, retiring in 2018.
