Jonathan M. Berger, known as Jon, resides in Wilmington with his wife Liz and their two daughters, Lillian and Eve, who both attend John T Hoggard High School. Details about where he attended school or the church he attends were not provided.

Jonathan M. Berger retired from the U.S. Government after nearly 30 years of service, including roles as a legislative policy aide in the U.S. Congress and a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. His international postings included Copenhagen, Denmark; Belgrade, Serbia; Vilnius, Lithuania; and Tel Aviv, Israel, in addition to a domestic assignment in Washington, D.C. His last position was as a Foreign Policy Advisor to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) at Camp Lejeune.
