Jordan Lopez's campaign for state representative in District 112 is his first run for public office. He previously served as chair of the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) Committee and on the Board of Directors for CharlotteEAST.

Jordan previously worked as a student intern at NC Cooperative Extention and as a customer service cashier at Piggly Wiggly supermarket.

Jordan is from East Charlotte and attended North Lenoir High School. He attended North Carolina State University. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master's degree in public administration from North Carolina Central University.
