Carolyn G. Logan grew up in Asheville, NC, and studied Criminal Justice at Belmont Abbey. She completed the Administrative Officers Management Program through NC State University. She is the mother of three children, Christopher, Morgan, and Taelor. Information about where she currently lives, what church she attends, or additional family details are not provided.

Carolyn G. Logan began her career in law enforcement in 1977 with the Asheville Police Department, becoming Asheville's first black female police officer. She joined the North Carolina Highway Patrol in 1984, where she was the first black female trooper in the state and served in various counties, achieving the rank of Sergeant and retiring in 2007 after 30 years of service. She has studied Criminal Justice at Belmont Abbey and completed the Administrative Officers Management Program through NC State University. Additionally, Logan is a Certified Basic Law Enforcement Instructor.

Carolyn G. Logan won her first race for House District 101 in 2018 and was sworn into the North Carolina General Assembly in January 2019. She has served as a member and vice chair of the Mecklenburg County Commissioners’ Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.
