Star News ONLINE, Meet the candidates: New Hanover Soil and Water Conservation District

Jeremy attended Marshal University in Madrid, Spain, and received a teaching certificate from Cape Fear Community College. He lives in Wilmington.  

Jeremy works as a substitute teacher for New Hanover County schools and as a Rugby Coach at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is also a vice president for a non-profit organization, Seahawk Rugby Foundation.

Matt is from Silver Spring, Maryland. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Matt currently lives in Hightsville, North Carolina. 

Matt has worked as a farmer at Xanadu Farms, a farm manager at Linc Urban Farm, an education director and government liaison at Hemp Farmacy, and the owner and operator of Centripetal farms. 

Matt Collogan is currently serving as a New Hanover County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. He was elected in 2020 and is serving his first term. He is currently serving as the vice-chair of the board of supervisors.
