April Farr's campaign for register of deeds in New Hanover County is her first run for public office.

April has worked at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) as a business services coordinator and in the Office of Institutional Diversity & Inclusion for nearly a decade. She has also served as the director of operations for the Future is Now Coalition and as treasurer for City Councilman David Joyner's campaign. April has also been active in the New Hanover County Democratic Party, from precinct chair to the executive board.

April earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and Spanish and a master's degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She lives in Wilmington with her 2 daughters.
