Kristen Moyer has served as First Vice Chair of Gaston County Democrats, a Council of Review member of the North Carolina Democratic Party in 2021, and a precinct chair since 2016 for Mecklenburg and Gaston Counties.

Kristen is the director of North Carolina Voters for Animal Welfare and attorney at law at Kristen J. Moyer, Esq. Previously, she was senior counsel and a corporate secretary at Sunkist Growers.

Kristen is from Los Angeles, California. She has a bachelor's degree in political science from Syracuse University and a law degree from Villanova School of Law. She and her husband Tally live in Belmont and have two boys. She volunteers at The Humane League, Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, the Humane Society of the United States, the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County, and Pro Choice Charlotte.
