David Guy currently serves as the Mayor of Ruth. He was named to this position in 2019 and is serving his first term. He serves as vice chairperson of the North Carolina District 14 Republican Party.

David currently works as a property renovation and maintenance specialist at FreightWorks Transportation & Logistics. He previously worked as a constituent services representative for the U.S. House of Representatives and as a middle school science and social studies teacher at Greenville County Schools.

David holds an associate's degree in middle grades education from Cleveland Community College, a bachelor's degree in education, English language, and science from East Carolina University, and a master's degree from Clemson University. He is married and has a son. He is a Christian.
