Matthew P. Sperati was born in Morganton, North Carolina in 1974 and graduated from Freedom High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Industrial Relations, followed by North Carolina Central School of Law where he earned a Magna Cum Laude distinction. He has three brothers and learned the value of hard work from his parents, Michael F. Sperati and Camille E. Rockett. Matthew achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 30 and enjoys spending time with his partner, Deborah, and their two dogs, Amos and Olive, as well as reading, traveling, attending music festivals, and hiking in the mountains.
