ENN, Steve Carter and Craig Turner reelected to Alamance County Board of Commissioners 

Craig is from Alamance County. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the United States Naval Academy and a law degree from Elon University School of Law. He is a member of Saint Mark’s Church in Burlington. 

Craig currently works as a Litigation and Construction Law Attorney at Fox Rothschild, LLP. He previously worked as an assistant district attorney for Alamance County and as a Commercial Litigation Attorney at Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLP. He served as a Naval Flight Officer in the US Navy for 8 years. 

Craig Turner currently serves as an Alamance County Commissioner. He was appointed to this position in 2021 and re-elected in 2022.  and is serving his first term.

As a Commercial Litigation Attorney at Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLP, Turner managed and litigated legal matters for businesses and non-profits, including Cone Health, the Atlantic Coast Conference, lending institutions, large healthcare groups, and small businesses, drafted and argued motions and tried cases in federal and state courts and the NC Industrial Commission, advised executives and business owners regarding litigation strategy and risk management, managed staff of in-house and contract attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants in electronic document production for litigation, and assisted in recruiting new attorneys.

- District Court judges hear civil, criminal, and juvenile cases. Civil cases dealing with divorce, child custody, and child support are heard in District Court. 
- Under the District Court, the magistrate can try small claims cases ($10,000 or less), landlord eviction cases, and suits for recovery of personal property. A magistrate is an independent judicial officer, recognized by the North Carolina Constitution as an officer of the district court.
