Beth is from Old Fort and attended McDowell High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Mars Hill College and her master's degree in elementary education from Gardner Webb University. She and her husand, Lamar, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Beth is retired. She previously worked as a teacher at West Marion Elementary School and Glenwood Elementary School.

Beth Lolley Silver currently serves as a McDowell County Board of Education member. She was first elected in 2020 and is serving her first term.
