Josh is from Ashe County. He graduated from Ashe County High School, Wilkes Community College, and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is the former president of the Rotary Club of Ashe County, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce. He attends Union Baptist Church in Lansing. He is married to his wife, Holly, with whom he has three children.
