Michael graduated from the Golf Coast Community College Officers Academy and the Montana Highway Patrol Academy. He has four kids.

Professional background

Michael Hummert served in the United States Army for two years before joining the Navy, where he worked as a cook, a deep-sea hardhat salvage diver, and a marine mammal operator. He was also a diving instructor at a salvage diving school in Panama City Beach, Florida. Micahel started a home remodeling company in 1996.

Political background

This is Michael Hummert’s first entry into politics.

Healthcare

Supports access to abortion and would support legislation that allows abortion for the first three months of pregnancy.

Supports allowing an abortion if DNA testing proves the child is not viable up to the second trimester and two doctors are willing to approve the decision.
