He later earned his bachelor's degree in modern history and secondary education from the University of Montana, graduating summa cum laude, and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governor's University.

Jeff is currently a tenured social studies teacher at St. Regis Middle & High School. Previously, he managed departments at a sporting goods store, taught at the Montana Youth Challenge Academy, and served in the Air Force.

Jeff was a Distinguished Graduate from Security Forces Technical School while he served in the military.
