Anja has degrees in sociology and political science from Montana State University. She is the secretary of the Montana Democratic Party executive board. She was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana, where she currently works and rents. 

Anja is an office manager at Sweet Chili Asian Bistro, starting as a server almost 6 years ago. During this time, she has also worked in political advocacy, directing the Gallatin County legislative action plan by sending messages to community volunteers to organize informed testimony on bills in 2023, organizing volunteers to expand voter registration activities and canvassing in 2022, as a legislative intern through MontPIRG for Representative Katie Sullivan in 2021, and as an organizer and campus lead with the Montana Democrats Coordinated Campaign in 2020. She also previously worked as a server and bookkeeper at Main Street Overeasy.
