Christi earned a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Carroll College and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Montana. Christi lives with her husband, Eric, and their children in Helena, Montana. 

Christi has previous experience as Deputy Secretary of State and Chief Operating Officer of Montana's Attorney General Office. 

Christi Jacobsen is the current Montana Secretary of State. She ran for this position in 2020 and has served one term. She is additionally a current member of the Montana Board of Land Commissioners.
