Ann is a Butte native. She graduated from Butte Central High School, then earned her bachelor's degree in computer science - business information systems from Montana Tech, and her law degree from the University of Montana School of Law. She has a partner and 5 grandsons.

Ann is currently the Chief Deputy County Attorney. She previously ran a free legal clinic. She was also the first drug court coordinator/special master, and developed the Butte Family Drug Court, Butte-Silver Bow's first treatment court. She has experience as a court coordinator, Guardian Ad Litem, and state prosecutor.
