Adam graduated from Murray State University. He lives in the Dogwood Trace neighborhood with his wife, Andrea, and their son. He volunteers his time on Lexington's Commission on Veterans Affairs.

Adam currently runs a coaching business. He has also worked as a project manager coordinating the overhaul of technology systems in military hospitals. Adam previously served in the United States Army Reserve.
