Nancy earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University Bloomington. She lives in Anchorage and has two children. She has volunteered in the community as co-president of Anchorage Children’s Theatre, as membership chairman and secretary for the Owl Creek Country Club Board of Directors, and as a member of the Anchorage Civic Club Board of Directors.
