Tyler is from Paducah, Kentucky, where he lives with his wife, Lauren, and their two children. He serves as the Site Based Decision Making Council at Hendron Lone Oak Elementary.

Tyler is the co-owner of KY Storage Company and a reserve deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.
