Juawn earned his executive doctorate in higher education from the University of Georgia and holds a Master of Education Degree from Mercer University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Georgia College & State University. He is the chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.

Juawn is currently a program coordinator for the U.S. Department of Education, and a mentor relationship specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He was previously a program assistant for the University of Georgia. 

Juawn Jackson has experience in public service as the youngest school board member in county history. He has served on the Bibb County Education Foundation Board and the Middle Georgia Regional Commission.
