She received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education in biology from Florida A&M University and a Master of Education from Bernard College. She currently resides in Hampton, Georgia, with her husband, and their two children. She attends Tabernacle of Praise Church International, serving as a leader. She serves in several community organizations, holding positions as a Founding Executive Board Member of Clayton County Federation of Democratic Women, Vice Chair of Clayton County Board of Appeals, and a Community Volunteer with Clayton County Care in Action, amongst other positions.
