Marshall Talley lives in Bibb County with his wife, Kim, and four sons. He has worked with Project ID to help community members obtain government IDs, improving their access to housing, healthcare, employment, banking, and the ability to vote. He is the co-founder of Registered and Ready and the Vice President of I Am King Foundation. Talley also leads Macon Black Culture.

Marshal Talley serves as the General Manager for VIBEZ. He is also the co-owner of Cheers Entertainment Services.

Marshall Talley previously ran for the Macon Water Authority District 2 in 2022 and District 1 in 2018, but did not win either election.
