Maggy holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the New York Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in technology from Universidad de Leon, Spain. Maggy has three sons as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maggy is the President of Starbound PR Firm LLC. She has held various roles in campaign management and public relations as a campaign manager for multiple political figures and public relations director for organizations such as the Municipality of Carolina, PR, and the American Lung Association. Maggy has also worked as a news reporter and TV producer for several shows in Puerto Rico.

Maggy Martinez served as a state legislator for the PR House of Representatives District 40 from 1997 to 2000, during which she was a member of several committees including the Federal Issues Committee, Health Committee, Ethics & Government Committee, Young Committee, and was appointed Chairperson for the Women's Affair Committee.
