Kimberly is a native of Paulding County, and grew up in Hiram while attending Paulding County High School. Kimberly received a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Morris Brown College and a master's degree in general administration from Central Michigan University. She is a mother, and currently resides in Douglas County.

Professional background

Kimberly has worked for Corporate America in internal controls and auditing, with experience in social change, education, insurance, business, and finance. She has also worked as a part-time college instructor and has professional experience in insurance, banking, finance, and international business as an internal auditor. Outside of her legislative duties, she works as an auditor contractor.

Political background

Kimberly Alexander was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 2012, serving District 66. In 2013, she was appointed as the Ranking Member of the House of Representatives Code Revision Committee. She also serves as the Secretary for the Douglas County Delegation Members and is a member of the Paulding Delegation. She was the first African-American woman to run for office on the Hiram City Council.
