Kiesha received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in psychology from Spelman College and a law degree from Emory University. Kiesha is a member of various organizations including the DeKalb Bar Association, the DeKalb Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She and her family live in Dekalb County.

Kiesha practiced personal injury and workers’ compensation law before entering public service. After serving in the District Attorney's Office, she founded her own law office Storey & Williams, LLP, where she focused her practice primarily on criminal defense, domestic relations, and civil litigation. Kiesha ran her firm for five years before returning to public service.

Judge Storey began as an Assistant District Attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.  During her tenure, she prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor offenses, served on the Drug Prosecution team, and served as one of the prosecutors for the Hall County Drug Court Program. She later served as the Solicitor for the Town of Braselton (prosecuting misdemeanor traffic offenses and ordinance violations), the Deputy Solicitor for the City of Gainesville, the Public Defender for Flowery Branch Municipal Court, and the Defense Attorney for the Hall County Felony Drug Court Program and the Dawson County Hybrid Drug and DUI Court Program of which she was a founding team member. Judge Storey was appointed to the DeKalb County State Court- Traffic Division as Associate Judge in 2015, and was re-elected in 2016.

- Despite their name, State Courts in Georgia have limited jurisdiction within their county. State Court Judges also have limited jurisdiction over the types of cases they hear, as opposed to Superior Court.
