James graduated from Ware County Senior High School, attended Okefenokee Technical College studying Microcomputing, St. Joseph’s University studying Electric Commerce and Finance. He also studied  Economic Development at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and holds a certification in Human Resources from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. James is married to his wife, with whom they have two daughters and two sons. He identifies as a Baptist and has attended Baptist Patterson Church.
