WALB News: Two candidates face off to be sheriff of Clinch County

Stephen attended the Drug Enforcement Administration Academy and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.

Stephen was a Supervisory Special Agent/Inspector at the Drug Enforcement Administration and a Special Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He also has experience as a task force agent, a narcotics investigator, and as a deputy sheriff.

Stephen B. Tinsley is county sheriff in Clinch County. He was elected in 2020 and has served one term in this position.

The County Sheriff is an elected official who acts as the chief law enforcement officer in their county. They are tasked with operating the county jails, keeping courtrooms secure during trials, and keeping the public safe through proper law enforcement.
