Laura holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Farmingdale State College and a Master's Degree in Biomedical Diagnostics from Arizona State University. She is married to her husband, with whom they have two children. She is a volunteer with Moms Demand Action, and a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the East Cobb Civic Association, amongst other community involvements.

Laura is the President and Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of Content Monsta, a digital content creation company. She previously worked as a Verification Engineer and Technologist with Immucor, Inc., and as a Medical Technologist and Laboratory Technician with Northside Hospital. She is also a Navy veteran.
