Joshua is a lifelong Pickens County resident, growing up in Ludville and now living in east Pickens. He attended Pickens High School, then earned his bachelor's degree in horticulture from the University of Georgia. Joshua attends Jasper United Methodist Church.

Joshua is the buyer for Buck Jones Nursery in Hickory Flat. He's also a vendor at Jasper Farmer's Market.
