Ginger attended Montgomery County Schools, then the University of Georgia, Brewton Parker College, and Tift College for her undergraduate degrees. She also has advanced educational degrees from Georgia Southern University, and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership. Ginger attends the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon and is a Sunday School teacher. Ginger is married to her husband, Allen, with whom she has 2 children and grandchildren.

Ginger is retired, and is a part-time school improvement specialist in the Montgomery County School System. Prior, she was the assistant superintendent for the Vidalia City School system.

Ginger Byrd Morris is a Montgomery County commissioner.
