Daylon was born in Hartford, Connecticut and lived in Jones County since shortly before 2001. Daylon has 2 bachelor's degrees, one in business management and the other in engineering from the University of Hartford, as well as a master's degree in adult education and instructional technology from the North Carolina. Daylon is married to his wife, Arleatha and together they have 5 children.

Daylon currently works as a broker at Daylon Martin and Associates, LLC. He has also been a public school teacher and school administrator. Daylon started his career as a sales engineer in General Electric's Technical Leadership Program.

Daylon has a master's degree in adult education and instructional technology from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University. He also has two bachelor's degrees, one in business management and the other in engineering from the University of Hartford..
