Ken Jelley has lived in St. Marys since 1979. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of St. Marys and the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH).

Ken currently serves on the Development Authority of St. Marys (DASM). He previously worked for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division. Prior to that, Ken served in the U.S. Navy on nuclear submarines.

Ken Jelley's campaign for St. Marys City Council Post 6 is his second run for public office. He previously ran for city council in 2022 but did not win.
