Steve is from Phoenix, Arizona, and is single. He has been involved in numerous boards and commissions, including the Arizona Civil Right Advisory Board, the Maryvale Village Planning Committee, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
