Mark is a lifelong resident of Paradise Valley, where he resides with his wife, Barb, and their 2 children. He attended the University of Denver, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication and political science.

Mark is currently the president & CEO of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce. He has worked in both the private and public sectors in leadership positions at various public relations and marketing agencies before founding his own communications and marketing firm. He has served as chief of staff for the Maricopa County Board Supervisors in District 3, and as the deputy director for the Arizona Office of Tourism.

Mark Stanton is currently a member of the Paradise Valley Town Council. He was elected in 2014 and is serving his third term. He has served as the vice mayor.
