W. Canova is from Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee. He has a bachelor's degree in architecture from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He lives with his wife, Pat. He attends Catholic Church of the Redeemer.
