Stella is from Centreville. She has a bachelor's degree in government and politics from George Mason University and a master's degree in multicultural and multilingual education. She lives with her husband and six children.

Stella co-founded Skyway Air Taxi, which provides private charter planes. She used to be a teacher in the Fairfax County Public School system.

Stella Pekarsky is currently the member of the Fairfax County Public School Board representing the Sully District. She was first elected in 2020 and has been in office for one term.
