Megan is originally from Northern Virginia. She attended Briar Woods High School. She has a bachelor's degree in international studies from the University of Virginia. She lives with her husband, Ryan, and their four children.

Megan is a long-term substitute teacher at Loudoun County Public Schools. She used to be a bookkeeper at FreshEye Innovative Solutions, an office administrator at Garden Delights, and an editor at Purcellville Gazette.
