Ilryong Moon ran for the Braddock District seat in Fairfax County’s first ever school board election and won in 1996. He served as an At-Large Member of Fairfax County School Board from 2004 to 2019. During his tenure, he served as the chairman and vice chairman for three terms each. Ilryong was a member of Affordable Housing Advisory Committee of Fairfax County.
