Kannan Srinivasan's campaign for state delegate is his first entry into politics.

Kannan is the vice president of finance, planning, and analysis at the Jose Andres Group, a restaurant group. He used to work for Asurion and AXA. He was also treasurer of the Loudoun County Democratic Committee for six years and finance chair for two years. He was appointed to chair of the Virginia Medicaid Board.

Kannan is originally from India. He has lived in Loudoun for 24 years. He has a bachelor's degree in commerce from Vivekanada College at the University of Madras in India, and a master's degree in accounting from Old Dominion University. He lives with his wife, Jay.
