Elisa has lived in Athens since 2005. She has a bachelor of arts in liberal studies from Georgia College and State University and a master of social work from the University of Georgia. Elisa is married to Zack and they have one son. Elisa is involved with the Clarke County School District and has served on the Academic Calendar Committee and participated in the Volunteer Instructional Leadership Learning Academy (VILLA).

Elisa Zarate has a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from Georgia College and State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Elisa met her husband, Zack, through her love for music and one son. Elisa is involved with the Clarke County School District and has served on the Academic Calendar Committee and participated in the Volunteer Instructional Leadership Learning Academy (VILLA). She was also awarded the Gamechanger award in 2023 by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Athens magazine.
