LaTonya Martin Rogers previously ran for Fulton County Board of Education to represent district 6 in 2022 but did not win. She used to be a member of East Point city council representing Ward D. She was first elected in 2011 and was in office until 2015.

LaTonya is a third grade teacher at North Douglas Elementary School. She used to work at Fulton County Schools.

LaTonya is originally from Delray Beach, Florida. She has a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and teaching from Morris Brown College, a master's degree in public administration from Troy University and a doctor of philosophy in educational leadership and administration from Capella University. She lives with her husband, Robert, in the Heritage Park subdivision. She attend Friendship Community Church.
