Earnestine D. Pittman used to be the a city council member representing Ward C and the mayor of East Point. She was first elected to city council in 2003 and was in office until 2009. She was elected mayor in 2009 and was in office until 2013. She previously ran for city council in 2019 but did not win.

Earnestine is retired. She used to be a high school mathematics teacher in the Atlanta Public School system.

Earnestine is originally from Georgia. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Spelman College and a master's degree in education from Georgia State University. She has been married for 54 years to her husband, Melvin. They have two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
